Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek was born in Mexico to Spanish-Lebanese Parents. The actress was born in Mexico to a wealthy Roman Catholic family. At the age of a young girl, she was inspired to pursue a career in acting after watching the movie "Willy Woonka & The Chocolate Factory.' After attending Mexico City's "Universidad Latinamericana," she was ready to join the field of film. The first role she had as an actress was in the Mexican television show 'Teresa.' Her role was featured in the film "Desperado" alongside Antonio Banderas after arriving in Hollywood. The film was followed by other roles, including "Fools rushing In" and Wild Wild West.' In the movie 'Once Upon a time in Mexico in which she was back, she played the character of the character 'Desperado.' She later founded her own production firm called Ventanarosa. Her first production was the Mexican film, 'El Coronel Tiene Quien Le Escriba that became Mexico's official entry at the Oscars in the "Best Foreign Film" category. Her production as executive director of "Ugly Betty" was a different accomplishment. The 59th Primetime Emmy Awards nominated her for "Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series" in the role as Sofia Reyes. The actress has also been a spokesperson for brands like 'Revlon' and 'Avon and launched her own collection of makeup, skincare and hair care products dubbed 'Nuance.'
